Three continents in three days - the power of Zoom! Great to spend time with the Rotary E-Club of Greater Sydney and its many visitors from all over the world earlier today. A very committed group of Rotarians “doing” Rotary in the style that suits them best. Thanks to all for making me so welcome, and thank you for all you do for Rotary.
And a personal note
Hi Marilyn, Thank you. It was a real pleasure to share in your meeting earlier and to meet such an interesting group of Rotarians from so many places. I remember you from Toronto. Ian Thompson was a very good friend - another Scot of course! Looking forward to meeting up with you sometime. Very best wishes, Gordon

HandUp Congo’s Connect for a Cause movie FUN-raiser
Thank you for supporting the HandUp Congo’s Connect for a Cause initiative, raising funds for women and children displaced by the May 2021 Nyiragongo volcano eruption in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo. In addition to your online donation, we held a James Bond movie FUNraiser on December 7.
We are happy to report that more than $3600 was raised. Funds raised have been wired to our Congolese project partners in Goma, Research and Action Group for Peace and Development (GRAPD). They are facilitating the distribution of the micro credit funds, and will provide project implementation support for sustainable livelihoods in the refugee camps, as women and children wait to return to their original neighbourhoods.
If you have any questions about the Democratic Republic of Congo and the volcano, or suggestions for future fundraising activities that can help further our livelihood development efforts, please get in touch!

We wish you and your loved ones a healthy and meaningful holiday season.
Chair of ROMAC, PDG Harold Sharp has presented his newsletter for December 2021.
It is available Here and in it there are stories of successful recipients of life-saving medical procedures not available in their own countries but available in Australia. ROMAC (Rotary Overseas Medical Aid for Children) is worthy of our support, read their stories, and think about a donation for Christmas.

Last month we held the third webinar in our “Engaging Members + Delivering Value” series titled “Expanding Our Reach.” During this webinar we spoke to participants who are sharing Rotary’s values with new audiences and creating different ways to engage people with Rotary. If you couldn’t attend, watch the recording (EN only), share with your club and have a conversation on ways you can expand your reach in your community.
ROTARY VISION: The application of practical action in solving problems, locally and worldwide
" The prevailing Rotary attitude is rendering service is practicality. Its aim in performing a useful action is to be helpful and serviceable, not sentimental...As Practical idealists, we temper the fanciful flights of the dreamer with the limitations of common sense."
