Cararoo Special 2020 Newsletter

Hi Family, friends, sponsors.

 

December is end of Financial year in the Philippines and while collating information for the Auditors I was amazed just how much we achieved over the last 12 months. I understand from Rotary that a number of overseas projects have stopped because the projects teams from Australia cannot travel overseas. I am so glad that 15 years ago when starting Cararoo Foundation in the Philippines I decided to employ a person in the Philippines to look after our project.( SO I DECIDED TO CREATE A SPECIAL NEWSLETTER,)  as you will see from the attached Special Newsletter it has allowed us to continue looking after the students and families. If you have never been to a squatter village it is an experience and when Covid hit the authorities locked down the village, including out squatter canteen. Our manager Ian was not allowed to enter the village and had to work through our established mothers group who run the canteen and keep an eye on the students.

I hope when you read the Newsletter you are left with the feeling just how proud I am of this project, the people who support me in the Philippines and of course the students and parents who live in the worst possible conditions. I feel very fortunate for starting this project and the people who help me with funding.
