Three members visit our Sister Club to hear their guest speaker Marco BRAYDA-BRUNO from Milano.
The topic of his talk was “Update on COVID-19 pandemia between phase 1 and 2 , an Italian perspective “ (in English)
Thankfully he spoke in English, An Italian speaking to a French club in English - how great is this!!
Three of our members woke up at 3:45 am to attend this meeting. Val Bland with Marilyn and Dudley Mercer were our representatives there. We we warmly welcomed and heard a good speaker relate the problems and successes of the Italian fight against Covid19

Here is Marilyn's report of the meeting.
Great meeting this morning with Rotary e-Club of Francophone. As well as their club members there were our three, plus those from Rotary One World, USA, Italy, Ukraine, Belgium, Denmark, Manchester, Romania, France. We were introduced . Then "You Raise me Up" was played in honour of their Past President who passed away this week. Professor Marco then spoke of the effect of Covid19 in Italy - the history of it in Italy In summary he stated that this virus will eventually become endemic in the population. Also there are plans to have some hospitals dedicated in the future as purely pandemic disease hospitals as each patient blocks a bed in ICU for 20-25 days so other emergency cases are unable to be treated.
