President Kian's August Report.
The month of August is already flying by. In August Rotary celebrates its members and the good they do in the world.
I have had the great pleasure of receiving a substantial amount of e mails from Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS) informing me of the completion of the projects by the project managers, i.e. our wonderful and active members who are working tirelessly to do so much good in the world. I for one am looking forward to hearing more about them, what motivated them to take up their respective projects and what their program entails, in the near future.
We can proudly present our club to any prospective member and the rest of the district as a club of achievers.
I attended the first president zone meeting on Friday 16th. Due to geographical issues I changed our zone from Lower Blue Mountains to Central Coast. David Rivett is our Current AG. I have invited him to attend any of our meetings that he wishes to. I hope to introduce him to our members soon. I will also be inviting him to our AGM in November.
I discussed the uniqueness of E Club and the fact that our members are across the whole of district with the DG and the DGE. It was decided that the E club should be assessed on annual basis on the zoning issue.
The zone meeting was quite informative. The clubs in Central Coast have decided on a higher level of collaboration this year to not only improve the capacity of each club in doing good in the community but also to raise the profile of Rotary in general.
The issue of Directories was raised. Unfortunately, it is still only available online and hard copies are not circulated as yet. I will keep you posted on their arrival date.
All were invited to the Charter dinner of the new Brisbane Water Club on the 30th of August at The Ettalong Diggers Club.
The AGs also asked all president to remind their members of the 3 big upcoming events.
- The Train ride to end Polio
- Dinner with RI President
- Registration for the Reasons Conference next year. The early bird is apparently available until 30 September. All payments need to be made by that date.
I also took the opportunity to invite all attending presidents to attend our meetings and see first-hand how the E Club operates.
I explained to them that it was the easiest way to make up for any missed meetings whilst experiencing Rotary in a new way.
