The Year Ahead

 

Good afternoon, everyone,
I would like to give you some Rotary history facts which have bearing on our Goals for 2022-23
In 1922
 The name was shortened to “Rotary International” instead of “the International Association of Rotary
Clubs” adopted 10 years earlier
 Constitution and by-laws were completely revised
 Adoption of the standard club constitution was made mandatory for all new clubs subsequently organized

Now to our Goals
 my main goal will be to lead and motivate our club to ensure that our members feel valuable, inspired,
involved and connected.
 As is needed in most clubs, we will work on solid member retention
 Increase member engagement
 Continue our awareness of inclusivity
and
 Increase our membership with Rotarians who are People of Action, who do good in the world and serve
to change lives

We have our club Plan and each Director has set goals. These include
 Membership net gain
 Service participation
 Rotary action group participation

 Leadership development participation
 District Conference participation
 Rotary Fellowship participation
 District training participation
 Support the Rotary Foundation
 Service project participation
 Inbound student exchange involvement
 Rotary Youth Leadership Award participation
 Development of a strategic plan for the future
 Continuing our online presence
 Increase participation in social activities
 Continual update of our website and social media
 Increase media stories about our club projects.
 Effective communication to all members.
 Revision of our club constitution and By-laws.

 

It is exhausting just reading them. But we are committed.
To achieve these goals and more, we have our enthusiastic TEAM 22-23, and remarkably all but one were able to attend District Assembly training. So please come out as your name is called

The sunflower has many meanings across the world. In Chinese culture, sunflowers are said to mean good luck and lasting happiness which is why they are often given at graduations and at the start of a new business.
Let us hope that our sunflowers give us good luck and happiness for our club’s year ahead. (Marilyn directed us to a tray of Sunflower seeds supplied by Lucy and encouraged us to take a packet and plant it for this year.)
